11-17-25   THOUGHTS

Our recognition of  God’s greatness is needed to motivate and propel our proper praising of Him.
The psalms give us marvelous information and examples of this process.  We are to praise His Great name, for “awesome and Holy is He.”  Prov 9:10  “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”  Fear is a proper view for reverence.   Verses 3, 5 and 9 tell the story.                                                                                                                          

Ps 99:1-9   The LORD reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake! 2  The LORD is great in Zion, And He is exalted above all the peoples. 3  Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He. 4  The strength of the King loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. 5  Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He.  6  Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called on His name; They called upon the LORD and He answered them. 7  He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; They kept His testimonies And the statute that He gave them. 8  O LORD our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, And yet an avenger of their evil deeds.  9  Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His holy hill, For holy is the LORD our God.
 
Our Prayer:
O Lord, You have revealed the wonders of Your awesome nature. We see... we believe... we exalt Your name.  Teach us more of this.   We must be in awe at all times, help us Lord.  Praise be to our Most High God!  We seek Your glory and we love you in the name of Jesus,   Amen.
